ABOUT
Trained in industrial design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Canada) and Lund University (Sweden), Jing Xia grounds her practice in continuous, intuitive exploration. Each work emerges as a morphing composite, inhabited by traces of impulse, material presence, and imaginative possibility.

Drawing from the tension between structure and collapse, and the generative potentials of cohesion and fragmentation, she treats materials as a testing ground—layering, peeling back, and reconfiguring. Her process is cyclical: gestures are repeated, erased, and reimagined with each iteration, capturing moments of transformation where opposing forces converge and give rise to expressions in a state of becoming.

Her work has been featured in exhibitions at CICA Vancouver (2024), North Van Arts (2025), and Surrey Art Gallery (2025), among others.
